the story of their adventure in l.a. la land (28 february 01)
Hi everyone.
Well we just got back from LA and what a trip it was. We flew in on Wednesday and pretty much slept the whole night, lame huh? Thursday we spent most of the day driving around LA gathering our bro's in Gameface's equipment for our show at the Martini Lounge that night. The show was great considering it was on 2 days notice. There were many friends and industry types, typical LA. We proceeded to, yet again, go to bed early after the show, very un-et11. I guess we are getting old. Friday we were picked up by the limo to go to Universal Studios. As we were driving up we saw Matt Pinfield walking down the street, we didn't pick him up though - it was missed opportunity. As soon as we got out of the limo the camera was on us - it was really annoying. We just know that everything stupid we say is what they will use. Luckily we bro'ed down with the camera girl Blue hair Brandy.
Anyway, we rehearsed in front of the people visiting Universal Studios, which was really wierd, I hadn't played outside in years so this was a bit of a new experience. After sound check we retired to the trailer, I put the Farmclub people on a quest for beer. I was little nervous. I never got it :(. We did chill with Matt Pinfield for a while before the taping. He actually remembered my name from the old record store I worked at. It was funny.
Oh well. 6:30 was time to go on. Gameface, Sam from Shift, Jason from Revelation, and our friends Laura and Merideth were there for support which was great because the audience had no idea who we were. Adam told one girl we were Pearl Jam and she went "really, I heard of you". No joke. So we played "There's A Place" and honestly it felt like we were listening to ourselves on a stereo. Because of the park rules they had to keep the noise level really low, it was weird. Anyway we got our one shot and I think we nailed it, it felt good at least. We proceeded to sign picks and drumsticks for the people who didn't know us. Now came the fun stuff. Keith and I devised a plan to get alcohol. The limos had scotch, so we raided the bar in one of the limos. We proceeded to spill liquor all over the inside only to find out the limo we were in was 98 degrees', not ours. HAHA, they were gonna get their leather pants all wet. After far too many cocktails we were forced to meet 98 degrees and Lifehouse. When we actually chilled with 98 degrees, Keith proceeded to forewarn them about our spillfest in their limo. They were nice enough. I think they wanted to talk to us about as much as we did them. We then chilled with Lifehouse, I recognized their promo guy from Howard Stern which I am not sure he appreciated. Oh well....Onwards.
We did a long interview with Matt Pinfield for his website. I don't remember it, I doubt Keith does either. Phil and Adam weren't upset with us so I guess we did ok. I remember talking at length about Wire and Keith kept trying to steal the fire extinguisher. Lots of other things happened that involved me at strip clubs and shit like that but that is all trivial boring stuff.
Next night we chilled with our bro's in Gameface, had a little dinner and whatnot. Afterwards we met up with our friend Kevin from NYC and chilled at the Dresden and enjoyed the fine sounds of Marty and Elaine. They do a rousing rendition of "Stayin Alive". That was that for the most part.
I want to thank the following people for their generosity; Craig from Some, Jeff, Steve, Todd and Guy AKA Gameface , Laura, Samantha (Bridgette also), Jason Upright, John Zagata, Laurel Sterns and everyone else who accomodated us on very short notice.

tour diary - or bust... (december '00)
Boston
Dec 5 Middle East
This was a really long day. We took the ferry to Connecticut for the first
time in order to avoid the typical frustrating traffic getting to Boston,
it was really cool. Boston has traditionally been great for us and this show
was no exception. We did play too late and it was finals week, not to worry
though, Boston isn’t a big college town. Drummerboy Keith played his first
show with us that day and it was a rocker. The only downer was the constant
electrocution I being made to endure the entire set from the Mic. Every time
I would touch the mic I would get a shock so bad all the stage lights
flickered, it added to the light show, but I was little dizzy afterwards.
Garrison and Prizefighter rocked as well and I don’t think they got shocked.
A friend came wearing a great YES belt buckle that I was very envious of though.
Show was dedicated to Gatti and Liv, drunk freaks who know how to really enjoy
an ET11 show!!!! Thanks to Jeremy, Kristy and Six Going on Seven.
Buffalo
Dec 6th
Long ass drive in a blizzard, in fact it was so bad they shut the city down,
but that didn’t stop us from playing the 99 Custer House. The opening acts
were really funny, our friend Vic’s band played, he dressed as a trailer
trash rocker, not a stretch, just kidding…next was Carl, an acoustic one
man act whose name is actually Justin. He was brilliant and very very funny.
It was so cold in the basement that Adam and I actually played with our
parka’s on! The show was lots of fun, even god can’t stop the fun. This
was a last minute show set up by Laura, thank you to her as well as Vic
and Ricki.
Grand
Rapids, MI Dec 7th
We couldn’t make the show in time, instead we drove in a blizzard for
9 hours and made a b-line for Detroit. We got our friend Vanessa’s house
which would be home for the next 3 days. This particular night consisted
of heavy drinking, what a shock!
Flint,
MI Dec 8th
This show was close and the weather was good for once. This was one of
those last minute we need a show shows. We wound up playing with 2 cover
bands and a band with a DJ. The first band opened with "Smell’s Like Teen
Spirit". I couldn’t have felt more Spinal Tap, it was actually really funny.
We played like shit which was a bummer, but it happens, no one knew the
difference. Thanks for the show Chris, we know you tried. That night we
returned to St Andrews (local club) in Detroit for a benefit they were
having with 10 punk bands, not my style but free drinks made up for that.
Chicago,
IL Double Door Dec 9th
This place was huge!!!! It was a real venue!!! We don’t get this
opportunity often. The soundcheck sounded amazing, little did we know
that horror that would ensue. The dressing room had beer on ice for us,
this was all too much. Were we in Europe? Was it a dream? This is what
happens when the right people make calls on your behalf. WOW!!!! Anyway,
we get on stage and EVERYTHING goes wrong. It was almost comical. I mean
everything blew up, it was sabotage (not the band)! But as usual, the
crowd was nonethewiser and by the 4th song we were rolling.
I have to say that playing to 30 year olds in leather jackets is
refreshing from time to time. IT was a great show (at least to the
crowd, we needed medication afterwards) and we celebrated to the max!
The last thing I remember was being at a bar where the bartender had
attended the show and offered free drinks. Apparently we locked Brian
in the trailer among other silly hyjinx. All I know is that I was back
at Vanessa’s at 9:30 am in Detroit and we almost slept through our
soundcheck the next day (or that day at that point).
Detroit,
MI Shelter Dec 10th
Detroit has always shown us a lot of love. That whole thing about it
being a rock town, it is really true. The radio stations there play
stuff you just don’t hear anywhere else. The vibe is usually great.
The venue is one of the better one’s on the touring circuit . but
honestly there was always something I didn’t like about the stage,
but I just couldn’t remember, then during soundcheck it hit me. I
get the loudest radio feed ever through my amp at the Shelter.
Everything on stage right does. So, playing slow quiet stuff is
almost impossible. It is always something. I was VERY unhappy, but
we endured. Our friends Remainder and Kid Brother Collective played
great. This was by far the best we played on the tour. I celebrated
by knocking over drums and throwing guitars, punk huh? . It was fun.
But that was just the beginning, the club turned in "Booty Night"
after the show. We were given all access and all free drinks for the
evening for which Vanessa (whose B-day it was) and Kid Brother
Collective joined us in. It was really funny. 300 fights, blood
everywhere, girls in the skimpiest outfits ever. We really stuck
out, but in a really funny way as was caught on our video camera.
Drive
home Dec 11th
Needless to say the entire drive home (all 17 hours) was through a
blizzard that seemed to never stop. By the end of the trip we had one
headlight and no taillights. Short but sweet, there it was...

a word from arty:  (january '01)
Hi everyone!!! Just wanted to give all of our friendly visitors an update on the goings on in ET11 land. First off, although we have been less than visible as of late, we have been very busy. We have been writing and recording at a feverish pace. Although we are not sure when or where the recent recordings will come out, we hope to get some newer stuff up on this site regardless. I also wanted to comment on the drummer situation. As some of you might know, Erik is no longer with the band. We wish him the best of luck. Our policy throughout the entire situation has been silence, mostly because there was nothing to say. Public discussion seemed unnecessary. I would like to thank the people who understood that. The important thing to us is the music, which there is an abundance of and our goal is to get it to the broadest audience possible. We are here to write music and that is what we plan on continuing doing. As of yet, we have not found an official replacement, but we will let you know when we do.
Onwards, we did a 6 day tour in early December that was great, despite the HORRIBLE weather. I would like to thank all the people that came to see us despite snow storms and college finals. I would also like to thank Vanessa from Detroit for housing us (and getting us free drinks) and being overly hospitable for multiple days. I will put up my tour diary, I am working on it. There should be an edited for TV tour video soon enough, it is funny as hell.
We are putting out a limited edition colored vinyl split 7" with our Swiss friends Favez on Diving Empire Records from Sweden. This is a limited European release (500 copies) that will feature the song "Right Again’ from our Crank! Ep and an unreleased acoustic song. There will be info for ordering it when it is available. We are also working on a possible spring tour, but that is still being discussed. In the meantime we will be playing NYC in the early part of this year. The date will be posted as soon as it is confirmed. Since the last time I wrote I have also noticed quite a few of our tunes being used on various MTV and ESPN shows, which is really cool even though we don’t get paid for it. Look out for it. It is all very exciting…..

While we are waiting for the newly designed site
to get its ass in gear and get combined with this
one, I wanted to start something that hopefully
will continue, a somewhat often update from the
band itself.
I wanted to thank everyone who came out to this
past weeks shows and rocked out with us. All we
ever ask is for people in the crowd to have as much
fun as we are having on stage and it seemed like
our mission was accomplished.
Every show was special to us because we were with
our good friends SAMIAM whom I would like to send
a big thank you to as well. Even with the breakdown of
their van and having to be stuffed in ours, they managed
to play great and have a fun time everynight. Nobody
can party like those guys. We wish them the best of
luck with the rest of their tour. Please buy their new
record called "Astray", it rocks.
As for ET11 news, we are currently in the studio doing
demos and writing new tunes. There is a CMJ show in
Oct., a UK tour planned for early Nov. and a short stint
on the upcoming Sets A Fire Tour also in Nov.
Also I would like to thank the wonderful young lady who
runs this site, her name is Amanda and she deserves
MAJOR PROPS!!!
Enough ass kissing out of me.
LET'S ROCK THE FUCK OUT!!!!!!!!
Drinking and Fucking,
Arty & the ET11
